Why You Need a Bill of Sale

The simple document that protects both buyer and seller.

A bill of sale records the transaction details: buyer and seller names, VIN, price, odometer and date. Without it, you have little proof of the agreement if something goes wrong. It also protects the seller from fines if the buyer doesn’t transfer rego immediately. Include a declaration that the car is free of encumbrance and any known defects. Both parties should sign and keep a copy.

Our contract template in the Confidence Pack includes a bill of sale section you can customise.
